What’s in a name?

A baby is born without a name
A baby is born with pounds to gain
Are all babies born the same?
No two babies are ever the same

What is it then I don’t know
Stop pushing me to call her Della Jo
An image, a friendship and love to grow
A heart that beats and a smile to show

We’re still undecided, her sisters not
The name is Lucia Sofia she ain’t forgot
It sounds great but do we like it alot?
The love is strong but what mum what?

Whats in a name? What is her name?
We should have known before she came

She means everything to us she’ll see

Her life will be full of fame
Remember remember, remember this  name

I know it was ambitious and rather bold

I had nothing and wanted to be grand

I had something unplanned

I know it was glorious and an honour to hold

I had everything and needed more land

I did something planned

I know it was flirtatious a finger of gold

I had belonging and a woman’s hand

I did something unplanned

I know it was rebellious and had to be sold

I had it all going and wanted to expand

I had something planned

I know it was precious another hand to hold

I had loving being a father twofold!

Men nothing to do on feed for weeks

Act like a bouncer and clear out the cliques

Cook the meal that’s the deal

Roast, bake, boil or fry

Don’t look at the baby you’ll make it cry

Together forever the eyes will dry

remember to sleep and try try try!

Nurse and cuddle give it plenty of joy

But lets not forget it ain’t a toy

Men do nothing on food for weeks

Act like a chef and chop up the leeks

Go to the store it’s just a chore

Wash, sweep, dust or dry

Tickle the baby it won’t cry

Together forever no need to be shy

Remember to smile as you clear the bile oh my oh my
